At the close of its nine-month USAID-funded project, the Noor Al Hussein Foundation (NHF) brought the winners of its youth drawing contest to Amman to receive their awards. NHF initiated the drawing contest to teach students from rural areas about family violence, women's participation in the legal system, and the rights and duties of citizens under the law. Twenty-four students, aged 15 to 18, traveled from Al Hassa, Al Juffer, and Northern and Southern Azraq, and were rewarded with a public exhibition of their work. In addition to the youth drawing contest, NHF used its grant to conduct civic education programs for both children and adults in rural areas, increasing their knowledge of the Jordanian legal system and the importance of women's participation in it. The grant also enables NHF to create and distribute the children's activity book Color With Us containing depictions of legal issues and the judicial system.
